PRIVATE PRACTICE

The Saxon Clinic

Milton Keynes

Not every knee needs the same solution.

The aim is to identify the least invasive treatment capable of achieving the right result — preserving the natural knee where possible and replacing only what is necessary when surgery is required.

01

PRESERVE

Keep your natural knee working.

For selected patients, treatment may focus on preserving the existing joint and delaying or avoiding replacement.

Arthroscopy
Cartilage treatment
Meniscal surgery
Osteotomy

02

RECONSTRUCT

Restore stability after injury.

Ligament and sports injuries may need reconstruction or repair to restore stability and confidence in the knee.

ACL reconstruction
Acute ACL repair
Revision ligament surgery
Patella stabilisation

03

REPLACE

Replace only what needs replacing.

Knee arthritis does not automatically mean total knee replacement. The pattern of arthritis determines the options.

Partial knee replacement
Patellofemoral replacement
Total knee replacement
Revision replacement

Partial or total knee replacement?

The answer depends on how much of the knee is affected — not simply whether arthritis is present.

For appropriately selected patients, a partial knee replacement can preserve more of the natural knee. Other patients will achieve the appropriate outcome with total knee replacement.

Understand your replacement options →

PARTIAL

Preserve more of the natural joint

For arthritis limited to an appropriate part of the knee.

TOTAL

Treat more widespread arthritis

For patients whose arthritis involves more of the joint.

OTHER OPTIONS

Replacement may not be the first step

Younger and active patients may have joint-preserving alternatives.

The objective is not simply recovery. It is getting back to what you do.

Mr Flynn’s sports practice includes ligament, meniscal, cartilage and patellofemoral injuries in recreational and elite athletes.
